Friday Street Market (Arroyo de la Miel)

The Benalmádena Friday Market is the main event. Over 200 stalls fill the Tivoli World car park on Avenida Manantial every Friday from 9am to 2pm.

This is a traditional Costa del Sol mercadillo selling new goods: pottery, ceramics, leather bags, cork products, clothing, footwear, fresh produce, and bulk confectionery. Products are on tables, vendors are regulars, and the atmosphere is busy. It's one of the largest open-air markets on the western Costa del Sol.

The walk from Arroyo de la Miel train station involves a noticeable hill. Arrive early. The best stalls sell out by midday.

Wednesday Flea Market (Arroyo de la Miel)

The Benalmádena Wednesday Flea Market is a rastro at the Recinto Ferial La Paloma on Avenida de Gandhi, near Parque de la Paloma and Selwo Marina.

Hundreds of vendors sell vintage clothing, second-hand goods, original art, antiques, books, and collectibles. Many lay items directly on blankets on the ground. That's where the cheap finds are. Art prints from €1, vintage jewellery, old books in Spanish, English, Dutch, and German.

Different in every way from the Friday market. Cash only, haggling expected, arrive early for the best picks.

Saturday Market (Benalmádena Pueblo)

The Benalmádena Pueblo Saturday Market is a small neighbourhood market at the Recinto Ferial Los Nadales on Calle San Miguel, in the hilltop old town above the coast.

Around 20 stalls sell clothing, footwear, leather goods, fresh produce, flowers, and accessories. It's the quietest of the four markets, but the Pueblo setting makes it worth the trip: narrow white streets, lower altitude temperatures, and views that reach Gibraltar on a clear day.

Take bus M-103 from Arroyo de la Miel, or drive up the hill (about 10 minutes from the coast).

Organic Market (1st & 3rd Sunday)

The Benalmádena Organic Market runs on the first and third Sunday of each month, back at the Recinto Ferial La Paloma site shared with the Wednesday flea market.

It's part of the Guadalhorce Ecológico cooperative, which brings certified organic farmers from the Guadalhorce Valley inland from Málaga to markets across the Costa del Sol. Expect seasonal fruit and vegetables, local honey, eggs, olive oil, artisan bread, and organic wine.

Not every Sunday. Check the date before making the trip.
