Local Tip
Dig through the blanket stalls for the best finds. Unlike the polished Friday market, many Wednesday vendors lay items out on the ground. That's where the €1 art prints, vintage jewellery, and unexpected bargains hide. Bring a bag and small change.

Recommended Stay

Every Wednesday morning, the Recinto Ferial in Arroyo de la Miel hosts Benalmádena's weekly flea market. This is a proper rastro: second-hand goods, vintage finds, and the occasional treasure laid out on blankets and folding tables.
The market sits in the upper section of the Paloma Park car park, near Selwo Marina. Hundreds of vendors set up from 9am to around 2:30pm, drawing a mix of bargain hunters, collectors, and curious tourists.
This is a different experience from the Friday street market at Tivoli. Where Friday sells new goods, Wednesday is all about second-hand.
What to Find
The Wednesday market is unpredictable by nature. Stock changes every week, which is part of the appeal.
- Vintage clothing: Old flamenco dresses, retro jackets, and second-hand fashion in varying condition.
- Art and prints: Original paintings and artwork, sometimes as cheap as €1. Quality varies, but there are genuine finds.
- Antiques and collectibles: Old ceramics, glassware, vintage tools, ornaments, and curiosities.
- Books: Second-hand books in Spanish, English, German, and Dutch, reflecting the international community.
- Jewellery and accessories: Costume jewellery, vintage watches, belts, and bags.
- Household goods: Kitchen items, furniture, electronics, and miscellaneous odds and ends.
Market Atmosphere
This is a scruffy, authentic flea market. Many vendors spread their wares on blankets on the ground, and the lines between stalls are blurred. Some sellers have more structured displays with tables and racks, but the overall feel is informal.
The crowd is a mix of locals, retired expats from the surrounding urbanisations, and tourists who've wandered over from nearby Paloma Park. Languages overheard include Spanish, English, Dutch, Finnish, and German.
Prices are low. Haggling is expected at most stalls, especially for second-hand items. Cash only.
Paloma Park
The market's location next to Parque de la Paloma is a bonus. After browsing, walk into the park to see its free-roaming rabbits, peacocks, and chickens. There's a café inside the park and plenty of shaded benches. It's a good combination for a Wednesday morning.
Do's
- Bring small change and cash
- Haggle politely on second-hand items
- Check the art stalls for cheap originals
- Visit Paloma Park afterwards
Don'ts
- Expect new or polished goods - this is a flea market
- Come without a bag - no bags provided
- Arrive after noon - best picks go early
- Confuse this with the Friday market at Tivoli
Getting There
