Highlights
Agroecology in Action
Twice monthly, 40 organic producers gather along the Genil River banks.
The Ecomercado de Granada is more than a farmers market, it's a network reimagining how a city connects with its land.
Seasonal vegetables, homemade bread, Sierra Nevada cheese, and handwritten labels showing farm names, villages, and soil types.
First Saturday: Palacio de Congresos esplanade Third Saturday: Avenida Luis Miranda Dávalos (near bus station)
History
The Ecomercado grew from Valle y Vega, a cooperative that created the Granada Agroecological Network.
What began connecting small organic farms with city residents has evolved into a movement linking regions from the Alpujarras to the Costa Tropical.
This is alternative consumption: direct trade based on trust, transparency, and shared environmental values.
